I wish either Chrysler or Alltel would have TOLD me.....do not, under any circumstances, put your key fob in the bottom of your purse or a pocket together WITH your cell phone. I am an intellegent chick, and I can handle instructions! When I traveled in April, I got back to town and my fob didn't work. I can't prove it, but this is the second time THAT has happened, so never again will I leave them the fob. It's fenced in and they have security, so it should be fine right?!?! My other one at home was fine. BUT....I got lazy and did not reprogram the one that didn't work, with the one that did. So what did I do?!?!? I went to the mountains last weekend, and after locking the back door, I threw my keys in my purse. You guessed it! IN with my cell phone. uuuurgh. So now it's off the the dealer, once again....to PAY to reprogram these STUPID fobs, that I love so much and make my life easier. That's my rant for this year. Thanks for reading and thanks for letting me vent.

Hey Lanette,
Sorry to hear of your FOB trouble, but have no fear, Candyman is here! Before you head to the Dealer, maybe give this a try. I did a little research, and this seems to be the most common way to re-program the FOB units on PT's. If anybody else runs across this, and has another way, please let us know, as this information could come in handy for consumer reprogramming of the door lock remote!
Customer Program Method
1. Press [LOCK] button 5 times at 2 second intervals to resynchronize transmitter. Attempt to function transmitter, it working as designed discontinue programming.
2. Turn ignition to the run position (Allow Ignition chimes to stop).
3. Using original transmitter, press and hold the [UNLOCK] button on the transmitter for between 4 and 10 seconds.
4. Continue to hold the [UNLOCK[ button and press the [PANIC] button. A chime will sound to indicate that the transmitter programming mode has been entered (Allow 3 seconds for chime to sound).
5. Press a button on all transmitters to be programmed into the system including any previously programmed transmitters; a chime will sound when each transmitter has been programmed.
6. Turn the ignition to OFF position to exit the transmitter programming mode.
Thank you:
Candyman

I might get in trouble with this post but here goes....
Knowing what I do about women's pocket books & purses, it does not suprise me that "problems" are beginning to pop up randomly!
Now, when the "lady" gives up a shoulder strap or handle for wheels, that begins to tell you something. Most women's purses should come with a "Table of Contents", or at least a some type of standardized filing system. (No kiddin' - just yesterday, my wife thought I had absconded with her car keys. And I had to look through her purse for her, to eventually find them at the bottom of one of the many side pockets.)
Then again, if the purse has wheels, a/c, or an interior lighting system, that requires a power source, like batteries or a generator....which has magnets or polarity in areas, that would present a potential problem for other electronically sensitive devices. Just think - if pocket books were confused with phone booths....then women might want them to have seats (as long as they talk on the phone).
So, you begin to see the potential ramifications of women putting car keys in their pocket books or purses.
But, I'm just a common sense guy. Myself, I prefer to just drop them in my pocket - i.e. "sit on it", as it were! **Then, when we guys have too much in our pockets occassionally, then we just hunt harder - with a smile on our faces!!! ;D

Hey Dave....you won't get in ANY trouble around here being brutally honest!!! I second that opinion, and matter of fact, I don't carry a purse except when I travel. When I travel, in an oversized bag I put my medicine, the camera, the cell phone, my portable DVD player, the chargers for all those and my big wallet....and my airline stuff of course. So there probably lies the cause, and I will just start leaving the remote at home all together. I tried CM's suggestion, and it didn't work. But I will try it again, soon. It's just been so hot, so I haven't had the PT started up since last week. Gotta do that. So thanks for the info and I will definately change what I'm doing when I travel, cuz that's when it happens. I was supppppposed to go to Tulsa the 9th of June, but boy am I GLAD I didn't go....with the gas prices, heat and people being busy, I bailed on the trip and I'll go in early October. Since it's cool then, maybe I can make a trip over to Stillwater to my sister in laws house....I don't know if you OKC guys would be up for a road trip to Stillwater or not, but maybe we can make a lunch at Eskimo Joe's happen?? Just a thot.

Frank here! (my post was just pokin' fun) Lanette, Might want to consider a September trip to Okieland! We have the Midwest USA Regional the first week of September. I believe that Dave has posted that on the "Oklahoma Chapter" forum. Stillwater is just up the road. When gas prices were low. I could make it in a little over an hour. westvalleyforum.proboards66.com/index.cgi?board=chapter2&action=display&thread=138

OOPS!!! Sorry Frank....I know that Dave is PT Dave, I don't know what I was thinking!! Sorry. I'll be in Rhode Island when you guys are having the Regional....I would like to make that some year, but some family things come up every year it seems like. But I'm sure Old School and all will make sure everything is fun!! One of my hubby's Okmulgee Tech buds lives in Bartlesville now, and he ventured out to look at some of the Cruisers last year. My hubby went to Bethany Nazerene College, so I know that town is going to love having your beautiful PT's in town this Fall!! Have fun. Right now, I'm either going to come to Tulsa about the middle of October by mysefl and stay a week or so. When I leave, I'm going to head over to south of Albuquerque for our NM event this year. If hubby wants to come to OK this year (he's one of those that isn't nuts about going home-it cuts into his hunting schedule ) then I'll drive over mid November and we'll fly him in....a hurt tailbone doesn't allow him the pleasure of riding in my lowered PT! Quite truthfully, he hates it. But then, I hate his Sierra Z-71 seats too, so we're even. After I get back from the East Coast 9/28, I'll know one way or another. We'll have to buy his SWA tickets before then. I've not been to Stillwater since 2002, so I'm due for a good dose of scootering into Eskimo Joe's. Have you had Mark and Jody do anything else to your baby lately?

Lanette, Nothin' new on the soonercruiser, as she was pretty much "done"!
But, I am beginning what little I am going to do on the "Black Sheep" (black GT vert). Mark & Jody will be doing a battery cover with a sheep with open mouth...and the word "baaaaaatery" on it. The air intake cover will be a special project, hopefully by "Awesome Artworks", PT40, in Claremore OK...as this will primarilly be a painting an airbrush job.

Hey Frank...I just went and looked at the pic of Blk Sheep when it was still in CA. Then I looked thru your pics and OMG; I see that Wizard did your flames, what a trip! I grew up in T Town, as I think you knew, and my dad created Tulsa Boat Sales and Brown Boat Sales. So I've known who Wizard is since I was just a litttle bitttttty girl, and seen his work. I've also seen his wife's work!! If it's the same guy. She does as well or better than him, and I've seen their work on cars, dragsters. boats and trailers too. Anything that's paintable. So I just had to reply and congratulate you on having a piece of the Wizard's art, I love small world stuff like that!! Just FYI speaking of a small world,...the first time I met Pee Wee and Scott from Oolagah at CTR in Red River, we talked for 5 minutes and figured out she worked with a best friend of my mom's for years! I caught up with that lady, after Pee Wee gave me the inspiration to track the lady down and call her to say hello. God I love this PT thing....it's the best.

Very Cool Lanette! GOD works that way.... Actually I came up with the engine bay flames idea as a way to hide some edge damage from a bent hood latch (the touch-up paint didn't match perfectly). The Wizard just only did the pin striping on the flames and mirror flames. I met his wife when I was there; she seemed to be running most of the "business end" of the shop. (I thought that she was the daughter, at first! Imagine that!) ;D

Well, he did a great job, your flames aren't the typical ordinary flames, and it's those kinda touches that make the difference. I'll have to go and look, but I think I have some pics of a boat and trailer that they did, many moons ago. Is he around 60-70? The Wizard I'm talking about would be, he painted lots of Rat Fink stuff back in the 60's and so forth.....so he's no youngster. Take care guy and talk at cha later!!

Lanette, If my memory serves me correctly, I believe that he is mid- to late-50's. Did you notice at the upper left of the page, below the word "Alblum", that you can click on a separate ablum for the Black Sheep?

I didn't notice that Frank....I saw the Wizard reference and it fogged my brain!! I went to the Net and all I can find is that their place is Wizard Artworks right?? The 60 sounds right, when I started hearing about him, I was 15-17 yrs old. That means he would have been in his 20's. I'll go now and look at the Black Sheep....I love the name and the concept!! It's not been done and should be an open range as to what you're gonna do. You've done such a great job on the Sooner Cruiser, I'm the BS (hehehe) will be nothing short of cooool.
