Here is a neat little trick for you! Most PT Cruisers come equipped with a keyfob Remote Operated Key Less Entry System.
To operate the Key Less System, you press the Unlock button on your Door Lock Remote once, and it will unlock the drivers door on, By pressing it two times, it will unlock all doors. This feature was (apparently)
designed with safety in mind so you can unlock just the drivers door and get in your car without someone else jumping in the other side (in a car park for example).
However, this can be a bit annoying for your passengers who are getting soaked in the rain while you fumble with the keyfob.
You can turn this feature on and off yourself, through a very simple programming procedure so that with one press of the unlock button on the keyfob, all doors (and the tailgate) will unlock.
To turn this feature on and off, perform the following (steps 2 and 3 must be completed within 10 seconds):
* Close all doors and place the key in the ignition switch
* Cycle the ignition switch ON/OFF four times ending in the OFF position
* Press the interior door lock switch to the UNLOCK position
* A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully disabled the double activation feature
You can turn the feature on or off by repeating the above mentioned procedure.
