Hey PerplHaze, Man, the look of the coupe was great, and this just brings it to a whole new level! Also, ya just gotta love those twin V8's! ;D Gives a whole new meaning to the term "Faster than a speeding ticket"!!! I wonder what that back scoop design would look like as a fiberglass cover on the back of a Vert. I did an open roadster idea thing a while back which might incorporate that look pretty well. The thought at the time was just to remove the boot for the top, and add a flush mounted Tonneau cover up to the front seats, but try to picture a fiberglass cover that would have those scoops swoop up to where the center roll bar body componant would be, and it might look pretty cool! Were you there? Did you actually get to see it?
I really love the look of the coupe.
Reason I am asking is I posted pics on another forum and comments have been made that they hope the hood was not completely closed in the pics.
It appears that it has a gap or is ajar (pic #2)but I'm thinking seeing it for real it would not be.
And I can see what you mean with the scoops on your PT sketch. Somewhat like the Solstice and Saturn

Hey perplhze, Back in the day, I used to know the guys who did some of the Detailing for the Display Cars over at the LA Auto Show, and I used to go hang out whenever I could, and help do some Show Prep Work. With this said, I actually got to get up close, and even sit in a Cobalt Blue, and Carbon Fiber Veyron Prototype Coupe. I never did get to see under the hood, but I did get to see the Monster W16 mounted behind the Drivers Seat!! Apparently Volkswagen is a part of Bugatti, and as the story goes, it was Volkswagen Engineers that developed a design that was origionally designed by Cizeta Motorcars. which was actually said to have been assembled with two Ferrari flat plane V8’s, mounted transversely, with the gearbox mounted between the two providing the vehicle’s longitudinal transmission layout. When it was all said, and done the Engineers from Volkswagen were said to have sucsessfully mated two Volkswagen V8''s, and got them both to run off the same Crankshaft, and then added 4 Turbo Chargers for a little extra kick! ;D Here are a couple of cutaway schematics of the huge 1000 HP W16 Engine, and Chassis. Still one of the all time coolest cars I have ever seen, and touched with my own two hands on for sure! Take it easy! Candyman
