Thinking about you mates in Australia - has been a lot on the news here in the "States" about your wildfires. Here in Oklahoma, after a hot summer we have high winds and lots of wildfires. Even here this spring after a dry winter we're having some. But, nothing like last yaer! You are in our prayers!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. As of this morning 189 deceased people officially BUT this may rise substancially IF they can identify the others. I believe it is higher than this BUT figures can't be released till the bodies have been officially identified BUT we are being told now that because of the heat being so intense that some of the bodies may never be identified. How terrible is that? Around 2000 homes & business's destroyed and around 7000 people displaced, no where to live. The Defence Force has stepped in and are putting people in some of the Defence sites like Air Force & Army bases to help them out, some living in tents on footy ovals and some with friends & relatives. We have never seen anything like this ever, not this bad and 8 of the fires are still going although at this stage not posing any threat to properties. The temps have been cooler and has enabled firefighters to put in containment lines so here's hoping they hold when the weather heats up next week.
