Hey Everyone,
If you ever need to remove, or install Door Spears on your PT, here is the procedure.
They are mounted w/ 3M Redline tape & can be remove 3 ways.
1) use a heat-gun (not a hair dryer) until the adhesive softens enough to slowly pull off.
2) Use a piece of strong fishing line w/ handles on each end. Pull the F/L through the adhesive. Clean excess adhesive w/ 3M Adhesive Remover (available at PepBoys, Autozone, O'Rielly's, etc.)
3) Use just the 3M Adhesive Remover, applied along the top edge w/ acid brush or old tooth brush, until adhesive is soft enough to pry loose w/ plastic putty knife.
When installing, clean thoroughly with Rubbing Alcohol to promote adhesion. Use only the 3M Redline Tape during re-installation. Once the surface is cleaned, line the part up, and press firmly into place.
