Hey Everyone,
I have read several times on other Forums where taller people always seem to have problems with headroom in their PT's. This is totally understandable as the room is in fact very limited as a whole, however their are some things you can look for to improve upon the situation.
When looking to purchase a PT weather new or used, if you are tall and often have issues with headroom, you should look for the following:
1. Their is a difference in height between the Power Seat verses the Manual Seat. The Manual Seat sits a bit lower which will give you an increase in both headroom, and as a result should also give you a better feel on leg room as well.
2. Perhaps the bigger thing to look for to gain more headroom is to look for a PT without the Moon Roof Option which is 3" - 4" shorter to allow clearance for the Power Moon Roof to retract back into the roof line between the roof and the headliner thus taking up significant head room.
And if neither one of those remedies work, you may want to explore possibly looking at going to Aftermarket Seat Brackets.
A Company named Corbeau makes some Aftermarket PT Seat Brackets for as little as $99.00. The Seat Brackets have Sliders and appear to be to OEM Spec, but have L Brackets at the bottom of the frame rails which look to allow for 2 holes of adjustment up or down as shown in the photo in the following Link. These Brackets might be something to look at more if you would like to have the seats lowered in your PT, or if you are a bit more mechanically inclined and looking for a small project, you may want to look at modifying the existing stock seat frames to allow for some L Brackets on all four corners to adjust the seat height accordingly. One way or another, this should not be all that complicated of a job to perform. Here is the Link to the Corbeau Universal Seat Brackets listed for the PT Cruiser from 2001 - 2010 from the JC Whitney Catalog. Though it does not mention on the Page it is for the PT, if you Google the Corbeou Model # E2030T and #E2130T Seat Brackets, they will indicate for PT Cruiser Models 2001 - 2010. Anyway, here is the Link.

Hopefully at least one of the above mentioned ways should allow for more head room for anyone needing so for their PT. If their still may be an issue, I would highly recommend looking at getting into a Convertible where extra head room is abundant. ;D
As always, if you ever have any more questions, or comments on anything here, or in this Forum, please be sure to ask me anytime, and I am always more than happy to try to help out anytime.
Go easy, and I'll catch ya later.
